Post questions for Lisa in this forum thread:
Lisa, In your experience with using Wikis in the classroom, are they more likely to become static web pages over time or lively areas full of contributions? Why do you think this happens?

Hi :-) Could you please recommend some good wiki web sites for education? I have used quite a few of them in the past but found none was really good :-(
"See" you tomorrow. But I do have to apologize that I will have to leave at about 11:40AM.

Hi! The PPT is up. I had to delete a few slides so that it fit within the file size requirements of this Wet Paint wiki. You can find it at the bottom of this page.

How will technology impact the future of education?--teacher roles, student roles, pedagogy... What are trends that we need to be aware of? What is the connection between technology and globalization?

I hope it is okay to talk about my own Web 2.0 application... Please forgive the self promotion if not.
At http://www.haikuls.com you will find haiku LMS, an on-demand learning management system in the Web 2.0 "tradition." Already, educators across the US and the world are using haiku LMS to extend their classrooms to the Web; most of them for free. Individual educators can use haiku LMS for free, or pay to upgrade as needed. And if districts or universities want an alternative to the more traditional LMS aps like Blackboard, haiku LMS is a great option.

These two comments - one from a chemistry professor and the other from an administrator really sum up what it we do - allow students to have a genuine high quality lab experience away from the campus-based laboratory...
AHS lab kits are certainly helping students get the kind of hands-on experience that a face to face chemistry lab provides. While certainly not providing each and every technique, these experiments go a long way in providing a medium for the students to get a first hand experience of learning Chemistry by doing. Further, it does provide a medium for students to think about the experiment they are performing and draw conclusions as in a regular brick and mortar Chemistry Lab. Venkat Chebolu Chemistry Professor SUNY Jefferson NY
We adopted your lab kits to complement our web-based Health Science courses and they are great! Our students get a genuine wet lab experience without coming to campus and excel in their classes. These kits provide a genuine science lab learning experience and are infinitely better than passive simulations. Alison Jacobs – Department Chair Health Sciences CCCOnline.
